David Reiter (1961)

GOT THIS EMAIL FROM MY FRIEND MAX JAROLEM (1960)

Rumor has been going around that Scobee's Diner will be closing next month.   Since I live nearby, I took my wife there for lunch today to find out if this piece of our life history will be disappearing like Fra Diavalo's.

We ate lunch at the table of longtime waitress and friend Debbie who has worked at Scobee's over ten years.  According to her, and later the cashier, rumors of there closing are not true.  Business is off a bit due to the recession, but the place is still packing them in even on a weekday.  I would think Debbie would know if anyone there knows.   I hope she's right.

On this coming Memorial Day I hope that all of you

take a few moments to thank the veterans and those

still on active duty who are giving freely of themselves

to defend our country, our families and our way of life.

Many of our classmates and teachers have served us

well, proudly and honorably as members of the armed

      forces of the United States.

Mr.Rubin and Mr.Sobel are just two of the fine examples

of people who not only served in the military but later came

to give of themselves to educate us so that we could be the

outstanding members of our communities like they are.

So before you go off to that cook out or baseball game,

please take a few moments to give thanks to not only our

veterans and those still  defending us from terrorism but the

families of those brave men and women who none of this

       would be possible.!

                                                                               Respectfully,

                                                                              Albert Chapman

Hi Marlene

I owned a B&B on Cape Cod for 20 years, but sold it a year ago. If you are planning a trip to the cape I recommend the Liberty Hill Inn or Brewster by the Sea.

I now live about an hour north of Cape Cod in Scituate, another seaside community just outside Boston.

Enjoy your visit to the Cape!

Once again, since the 2017 reunion has been cancelled, Im trying to put a mini reunion together at PS 187 in either May or June, 2017, whichever is most convenient.  Once there, we can decide where we would like to go for dinner, coctails, dancing. So far, it looks like its going to be me, Pee Wee, Robert Miller, June Rachelson. Dave Reiter and Mark Schwartz are maybe's.  Contact me thru AOL at MikeGrab@aol.com or this web site if interested.

UPDATE, The mini reunion has been reduced to 2 days, Fri and Sat, Sunday was posing problems for many.OK Kids, Its been decided! the 2017 BEECH HILLS-DEEPDALE mini reunion will be held the weekend of JUNE 9, & 10 (Fri - Sat) each day from 12 noon - 2pm at the PS187 School yard. We will be there both days at that time, to connect with as many classmates as possible. Once there, we can decide where to go and what to do. (Bowling at Sterling lanes is out) I think Saturday will be the most POPULAR day, but you never know (Hint: think Neil Fieland). ALL are welcome, If you live in the area, stop by one of those days just to say hello. This is a very low key, informal event, which should be alot of fun..
