Hi Doug,

So sorry to hear the news, but got a kick out of hearing from you. I was your across the street neighbor, Lanie Alexander. I was so sad also to hear of the loss of Jeff so long ago. I think I wrote to you a while back. You are one of the few old neighbors I have been able to get in touch with. Actually, I did get in contact with your sister in Reno. She told me that my Mom, Julia, had inspired her to become a nurse. I was very moved.

I wanted to to ask a question - I am not totally sure who Ricky Lauer was. Did he  have light colored hair and live right across the street from P.S. 221? Did his Mom have the living room decorated with alot of pink? I'm trying to see if he is the same person I remembered.

Take care and keep enjoying that good life. Shana Tova.

Lana (Murawiec now)

Dear Lana,  Shalom from israel.  It appears Ricky Lauer may not be deceased. We are trying to find out. The Ricky you mention was my good friend Ricky Tropp, with the pink apartment, i dont know how you know this. He is well and living in Virginia. He did live across the street from 221. Were you there? My other good friend Gary Rubin lives at 61-20 245th next to my old place, and is very happy. If you need anyone elses phone or email let me know.  shalom,  doug

Hi Doug,

I was browsing around on this site, and was surprised to see that you seeming live in Israel.  I don't know if you remember me (I remember everyone, few remember me!).

I was friends with Kathi Hubscher, Bonnie Axelrod, ... that group.  At any rate, I too lived in Israel for many years - long ago - and now visit from time to time.  My best freind there lives in Hatsor Haglalit, so I spend a good deal of time there on my visits.  Do you live in Tsfat? Have you been there long?

WOuld enjoy hearing how you ended up there and what you are up to.

You can email me at evyfly@aol.com

Anyway, kol tov,

Evelyn Rosen

YES EVELYN, I REMEMBER YOUR FACE AND KATHY AND BONNIE FACES LIKE YESTERDAY. FUNNY BUT I AM IN HATSOR SHOPPING EVERY WEEK AS I LIVE ON THE SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN NEAR ROSH PINA. AFTER TRAVELING THE WORLD WE FINALLY MADE A TRIP TO ISRAEL 4 YEARS AGO AND NEVER WENT BACK TO THE STATES. WE JUST FELL IN LOVE. I CAN SEE THE WHOLE KINNERET FROM MY BALCONY AND THE MOUNTAINS ALL AROUND. IT IS SO BEAUTIFUL, AND WITH SUCH WONDERFUL WEATHER. NOT TO MENTION THE ISRAELI PEOPLE AND COST OF LIVING. WITH THE CRIME AND EVERYTHING ELSE GOING ON POLITICALLY IN THE STATES I AM SURE WE MADE THE RIGHT MOVE, TO A CRIME FREE WONDERFUL PLACE. KIND OF LIKE LITTLE NECK WAS IN THE SIXTIES. WHAT A PLACE TO GROW UP! I AM STILL IN TOUCH WITH RICKY TROPP, STUIE SIMKOWITZ, GARY RUBIN AND MITCH SKOLNICK. SOME OF THEM NEVER LEFT BEECH HILLS! UNBELIEVEABLE. HOPE YOU HAVE HAD A GREAT LIFE AND KEEP ON VISITING ERETZ YISROEL, WE NEED THE TOURIST DOLLARS.    SINCERELY,  DOUG TANZER
