you are welcome. couldn't do it without Sue, who is spending hours typing in names, and everyone else that keeps me inspired by their suggestions and comments. Hope to keep those memories alive by keeping the web site up to date with their donations..We have collected 55 dollars so far, but quite a bit more to go.

Found this on the internet in regards to Kiddie City

I too remember Kiddie City. My favorite ride was "The Scrambler". We always had lunch there too. I believe the restaurant was called "The Jolly Roger". They had a rootbeer dispenser which looked like a barrel and I believe they were known for their rootbeer floats.

Kiddie City

I too have fond & vivid memories of my parents taking me to that amusement park. I particularly remember indoor arcade games that had shooting galleries, pinball etc. I also remember a restaurant across the street from Kiddie City called Harveys where they made the best hamburgers. Thanks for the memories!

Ring-a-levio Rules
Contributed by: Charlie Norris and Mary Keller

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

l. Choose two teams of any number of persons that want to play.

2. Draw circle on ground large enough to have one team standing in circle.

3. Throw a pointed stick in the air between one member of each team. Where the stick points after the toss -- that team runs out and hides while the other team enters the drawn circle and counts slowly to 100.

4. At the end of the count, those players run out to find the other team players.

5. When a hidden team member is found and tagged by an insuing team member, they automatically give up and go to prison which is the original drawn circle. This continues until all are captured and put in prison. (Then it's the other team's chance to hide when all are caught and returned to the circle.

6. In the meantime, if the prison circle is left unguarded, members in the circle can be automatically freed by another of their team running through the circle and saying "ring-o-levio" without being touched by an opposite team player while doing so.

Note: From Dave Furlong, "The only story I've ever come across that mentions ring-a-levio was set in Brooklyn:

Chet Blum (1961)

Hello all. Thought I'd update what I posted a little while back.

If you go to www.myspace.com/cablumsongwriterlyricist you'll come to my myspace page. I don't think you have to be a myspace member to just go to the page.

On my page there are 6 songs playing. I co-wrote all 6. "I Get It Now," "Me Myself And I," "Love Sunrise," and "Smoke Signals," were all co-written with some wonderful musician songwriter's down in Nashville. "Love Song" was co-written with a young singer songwriter down in Fla. These are all demo's.

"Love Song For My Father," is just a work tape but fairly good quality. It was co-written down in Nashville with a singer songwriter by the name of Larry Wayne Clark. I hope to get it demoed in the not to distant future. Wrote it in memory of my father who passed away way back in ' 73. For anyone reading this who has lost a parent I dedicate this to you as well.

The update is this. "I Get It Now" has been well received and is being pitched to some various artists and management types. We'll see what happens.

"Me Myself And I" is on the blocks to be in a movie. Not sure what movie or when but that's the feedback I'm getting. I'll believe it when I see it.

"Smoke Signals" is going to be recorded by a band by the name of Double Shot. They are in the Carolina's. They are recording a CD and "Smoke Signals" is going to be recorded for that CD. After that there is talk of a "radio" tour to promote the CD. Like everything else we'll see what happens.

Would love to hear what anyone thinks. Hope everyone is well.

I HAD THE UNFORTUNATE TIME TODAY TO SAY GOOD BYE TO A DEAR FRIEND. WE WENT TO THE GOODBYE CELEBRATION OF OUR DEAR FRIEND HELENE KUNIN KLEIN, TO REMEMBER HER AND HONOR HER PASSING. HELEN WAS THE WIFE OF STEVE KLEIN AND THREE WONDERFUL SONS. WE SPENT THE TIME REMEMBERING A GREAT AND DEAR WIFE, MOM, DAUGHTER, AND EVERCARING FRIEND. SHE IS AND WILL ALWAYS BE MISSED.

THE OLD NEIGHBORHOOD REMEMBERED HELENE WITH THE PRESENCE OF BARRY AND ANITA GINSBURG, IRIS LEVIN,DANNY BRODSKY, CYNTHIA HENIKOFF, BONNI AND ALAN GERSHON,SHARON BRODSKY, AND OF COURSE JEFF KLEIN AND MARSHA KLEIN, AND AS WE KNOW HER, "BIG IDA" HELENE'S MOM.

THE DAY WAS A REMEMBRANCE FOR ALL OF US OF THE "GOOD OLD NEIGHBORHOOD" AND HOW LUCKY WE WERE TO GROW UP THERE, AND ALSO HOW VERY LUCKY WE WERE TO HAVE HELENE AS A FRIEND.

REST IN PEACE HELENE, WE LOVE YOU,

DAVE REITER

I had the honor of taking Helene Kunin to our 6th grade graduation dance. Being the sport I am, I then took her to the deli down the hill for hot dogs. She was my first love but as usual I couldn't get to first base. I had the pleasure of having dinner with her, Steve, Doug Andriole, and Dave Reiter prior to our last reunion. It brought back great memories and reinforced my memory of what a great person she was. My best to her husband and to her sons. She will not be forgotten by me.
